Cbank limits deals with securities bought abroad after March 1
MOSCOW, Aug 8 (PRIME) -- The Russian central bank has prohibited the depositaries and registers to make transactions with the securities bought from foreign owners after March 1, the authority said in a statement on Monday.
"The depositaries and registers will be unable to carry out transactions with the securities bought from accounts of foreign depositaries or authorized owners, except the securities acquired before March 1, 2022," the statement read.
The measure does not target the shares bought after cancellation of depositary receipts if an investor owned the latter until March 1, or the securities received in the framework of securities borrowing agreements or as the second part of repo deals, and also in cases specified by the government's foreign investment control commission.
